Mumba & Jessica Mulenga and Family

We are Mumba and Jessica Mulenga and by God’s grace, we have been married for 12 wonderful years. We are blessed with two beautiful children, Rafael (8) and Micaela (3), who bring great joy and purpose to our lives.

Jessica, a qualified Social Worker and Protective Behaviours trainer, has faithfully served in ministry for over 20 years in various capacities. Today, she continues to live out that calling through Community Bible Study (CBS), where she stepped into leadership seven years ago, following Les Harper. Her deep love for people and unwavering commitment to God’s Word continue to inspire our family and all those around her.

I came to Mozambique 32 years ago with my parents, Patrick and Grace Mulenga, who serve as church-planting missionaries with the Christian Brethren Church. Over the past 15 years, I have worked in full-time employment, primarily in commercial and strategic leadership roles. I currently serve as a Strategic Partnerships Manager, leading enterprise business within the telecommunications sector.
Alongside my professional work, I have had the privilege of serving in leadership at our local church. Investing in young people has always been one of my greatest passions, and it continues to shape how I see God’s heart for the next generation.

Over the past few years, Jessica and I have both sensed a deep and undeniable stirring, a clear call from God into full-time ministry. Our hearts burn for the youth, young adults, and  families of Mozambique. Like many, we have wrestled with doubts, questioning whether we are ready or even the right people for this calling. For a long time, I believed my role was simply to support ministry through my career. Yet, God has faithfully and persistently been drawing us into something more.

A significant part of this calling has been shaped by my parents’ example. Having served in Mozambique for over 30 years, their lives of sacrifice, faith, and obedience left a lasting imprint on me. Growing up, I was involved in their outreach and community initiatives, experiences that helped form my desire to serve and live a life of purpose and compassion. We see this step we are taking as a continuation of the work which was started by my parents.
Recently, dear friends who are more like parents to us, Mark and Les Harper who have faithfully led Pro-Vision Mozambique for over 20 years, and previously pioneered Youth for Christ Mozambique approached us about stepping into greater responsibility as they begin to transition out of leadership.

After much prayer and reflection, we have said yes to beginning this succession journey. While we do not yet know the full timeline, we are committed to seeking God’s guidance every step of the way and trusting Him with the process.

As part of this next season, we will begin by restoring and managing a campsite that has been abandoned for many years. Our vision is to see it transformed into a vibrant space for youth, churches, and leadership training—a place where lives are changed, leaders are equipped, and nations are impacted for Christ. Ultimately, this succession plan is part of a process of preparing me to take on the Team Leader/Director role at Pro- Vision Mozambique,  succeeding Mark and Les.

Raising Support

We invite you to prayerfully consider partnering with us in this calling. Your prayers are deeply valued, and if you feel led, we would be grateful for your financial support as well.

We are trusting God to lead us into full-time missionary work with Pro-Vision following the conclusion of my current work contract in September 2026.
As we prepare for this transition, we are believing for a community of partners who will stand with us spiritually and practically.

If you feel stirred to be part of this journey, we would love to connect with you and share more details on how you can get involved.
