OUR PROJECTS
MERCY MINISTRY:
PEP - Preaching in Practic
Practically showing Christ’s love in often painful calamities and natural disasters
Mozambique is prone to natural disasters like cyclones, flooding, severe drought and political or religious acts of terror.
Acts of mercy are undertaken with the aim of assisting God’s people to serve victims with the love and compassion of Christ.
During these times of conflict or disaster, Christians are often caught
up in the situation or respond to it because of their proximity.
Pro-Vision Mozambique attempts to strengthen their initiatives and enable them to comfort, support and care. When the disaster
is over, these local Christians will still be on hand when the big relief agencies have left, caring for the needy and were there when the disaster took place. In supporting the local believers, God’s Kingdom is supported
and their position in the community established.
The love of Christ can become real to a village person trapped in the fear of spirits and witchcraft, through a loving touch and prayer during a medical outreach, through the gift of safe drinking water, wooden benches for a school or a church, shoe-box gifts for the pre-school children and orphans in the village, the sewing of skirts and shorts for the children dressed in rags, or a flood relief 'Jesus' love bucket'.
Help for refugees of attacks since 2018 until today, 600 families and widows fed for 6 weeks post cyclone Idai, 180 houses built for widows who lost homes in the cyclone, wheelchairs for the handicapped, drinking water and water filters for communities in drought or floods, and food parcels for orphans and foster families.
Like the two men who held up the tired hands of Moses during the battle against the Midianites, Pro-Vision desires to support and mentor servant leaders with a dream from God for their communities - in order to help them take a few practical steps at a time, towards seeing that vision become a reality.
The church still has a mandate, however, to demonstrate the kingdom of God - His love and light, to orphans and widows and the many vulnerable children living especially in the poverty-stricken and often drought-affected rural areas of Mozambique.
Watch our facebook link for opportunities for service projects, if you or your church would like to get involved practically, or suggest dates and a project and we will see if we can work together for God's glory in Mozambique
SUPPORT:
There is currently a refugee crisis in Northern Mozambique and the pastors have strongly suggested the focus be on the primary need of food - cooking nourishing meals at each venue for children. With this in mind we have begun a refugee soup kitchen in certain areas with the desire to see children receiving a cooked meal at least twice a week. If you would like to support this project, the giving allocation is as follows:
