Pioneer missionaries Mark and Lesley Harper have pioneered ministry serving the people of Mozambique for 25 years. They have ministered to hundreds of youths, pastors, teachers, care givers and mentors and impacted thousands of lives, ministries and communities. Today they and their team lead a mentoring ministry in Mozambique whereby they travel the length and breadth of Mozambique, preaching and teaching in remote villages, showing the Jesus film, leading disaster relief, distributing handheld solar charged audio Bibles, mentoring and encouraging local churches pastors.
Pro-Vision Mozambique serves and encourages national leaders in the areas of pioneer evangelism and church planters, protection of children and orphans, protective behaviours, trauma and anti-trafficking training, Mercy Ministry and community and calamity upliftment projects, and small agricultural projects. We mentor, train, equip and encourage Mozambican leaders through relationships with individual churches. Mercy Ministry and Education of Orphans (Royal Treasures) and Training National Missionaries are the main goals, as we seek to provide practical support, with the help of our partner churches, doing projects such as building houses for orphans, providing water supply or medical care as needed, and initiating church-based preschools or Sunday Schools.
All over Mozambique, there are pioneering Christian leaders, who selflessly serve their poverty-stricken communities. Pro-Visao is working in 7 of the ten provinces, through Orphan Sunday and church partners as well as LIVESCHOOL National Missionary training, and as-needed crisis relief. Intervention in these communities hinges on 2 aspects: 1. The physical concerns of the community need to be addressed 2. The gospel needs to take root to bring about Kingdom living and transformed lives and communities.
We ensure that proper management structures are in place, a board of directors is appointed, each one with a specific portfolio, and that proper Corporate Governance Procedures are followed with full accountability.
This would consist primarily of finance to ensure that a ministry is adequately financed through committed donors, and that the work will be viable, and sustainable in the long term.
We undertake to mentor the leaders of the ministry/work on a regular basis, normally weekly to ensure that they are growing spiritually, are adequately cared for, and that they are growing in their role as the visionary leader of the work.
